Apollo AGC: Flying realistic Apollo 11 moon landings with the Apollo Guidance Computer

“We’ve built a LM! Almost: Mike has hooked the AGC to a LM simulation from the Orbiter/NASSP program. Which is a very good simulation. So good, we can re-enact Apollo 11 landings to a high degree of fidelity, with the LM piloted by a real AGC running the original Apollo 11 rope. Just as back then, it still requires quite a bit of piloting skill and nerves of steel. Two landings in this long video: the first one is a “nominal” Apollo landing to explain things. The second one is a hair raising Apollo 11 re-enactment landing with 1202 errors and the actual Apollo astronauts calls from the radio recordings weaved in. Seat back a enjoy the show.”
