AlphaWorld: there was ‘space’ in Cyberspace

“there was ‘space’ in Cyberspace and ‘visiting a place on the Internet’ began to have real meaning” (Damer 1996, page 1)

Short movie avatar walking tour of original AlphaWorld “Ground Zero” with Bruce Damer (as Digigardener) and Active Worlds developer Chrispeg. This is the original landing zone for Alphworld as it appeared in the summer of 1995. The oldest object is the street intersection (laid down by Ron Britvich, aka Protagonist, on July 15, 1995). This video was made as a part of a virtual worlds history tour of Sherwood Forest (1996 Contact Consortium and DigitalSpace project).
